Regular Giving

Join our regular giving program ‘Breath of Life’ and transform the lives of many people living with cystic fibrosis.

What is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common life threatening genetic condition in Australia. CF affects many of the body’s systems, including lungs and digestion.

Cystic Fibrosis - Five facts

  1. A person with cystic fibrosis has an average life expectancy of 38.
  2. It’s the most common recessive genetic illness affecting Australians.
  3. In Australia a baby is born with cystic fibrosis every four days.
  4. Cystic fibrosis not only affects the lungs and pancreas, but also impacts other parts of the body
  5. There is currently no cure

From birth, a person with CF undergoes constant medical treatments and physiotherapy.
